We have finished whole genome DNA sequencing of 525 Japanese centenarians including 133 supercentenarians, and its association study indicated candidate genetic variants including APOE e4 risk allele, which is well known genetic determinant with sporadic Alzheimer disease. These results indicated that APOE e4 risk allele is one of major genetic determinant for both longevity Alzheimer disease and longevity.
