Project for quantifying mental health by combining medical and technological approaches
Strategies for managing mental health issues have become an important focus in many countries around the world. However, treatment evaluations and development of new treatment strategies are limited by the current lack of objective biomarkers available for psychiatric illnesses. To address this problem, we are using data from subjects’ voices, body movement, facial expressions, heart rates, brain waves, speech, etc., as recorded in clinical, occupational, and everyday settings, to develop a system that can provide objective judgments regarding subjects’ psychiatric illnesses and illness severity.
